This two-day package makes the most of your vacation time with Durango and offers the best way to see our area from all points of view – water, canyon, and backcountry.

Day One:
Enjoy a scenic ride on the beautiful San Juan Skyway to the historic old mining town of Silverton, Colorado. In Silverton you will transfer to jeeps to explore ghost towns and old silver mines at an altitude of up to 13,000 feet. Learn the history of the area, discover cascading rivers, enjoy high-country waterfalls and native wildflowers – and dont forget your camera!

When you return to Silverton you will have a short layover to take in the history of the town, explore the quaint shops and restaurants that make up Silverton and grab a bite for lunch.

Your day continues when you board the Durango & Silverton Railroad for the afternoon train back to Durango. The views will be totally unique from your morning trip as you travel through 55 pristine miles through the canyons and valleys of beautiful forest. Enjoy the Animas River Canyon much as it was experienced over 100 years ago.

You will return to the train depot in Durango in plenty of time to enjoy dinner at one our many unique restaurants and maybe even catch an evening show!

Day Two:
Get ready for some fun on the lower Animas River with a half-day raft trip. You will enjoy fun, splashy rapids while learning about the history of Durango, the Animas River and the surrounding mountains. No trip to Durango is complete without a float on the Animas, fun for almost all ages and no experience required!
