On June 11th, run in the Steamworks Half Marathon along the Animas River down County Road 250. The 13.1 mile stretch is rewarded with a pool party at the Durango Sports Club. Food and drinks from Steamworks Brewing and Homeslice are provided for the celebratory after-party. The race starts at 8am and is capped at 300 runners. Get back in touch with our western roots at the 8th Annual Durango Cowboy Poetry Gathering Outdoor Concert, Barn Dance & Silent Auction. On June 12th at the River Bend Ranch just north of Durango, the Tim Sullivan Band will take the stage. A silent auction featuring many local pieces will benefit the Gathering and its youth programs. Lone Spur Café, Cuevos Tacos, and Cream Bean Berry will all be there serving up wonderful food and ice cream! Mountain Waters Rafting & Adventures, the Durango VFW, American Legion, and the Elks Lodge are sponsoring the 5th annual raft trip and picnic made free for veterans and their families.
