The Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad is hosting former Rio Grande Southern railcar, the Galloping Goose No.5, for excursion operations on select dates in April and May 2022.
Please note that these are train excursions only, not photo special excursions. The train does not make stops on the way to Cascade Canyon. Although restroom facilities are not available on board Goose #5, they are available at select points along the route.
CASCADE CANYON EXCURSIONS
Overview:
The Rio Grande Southern Galloping Goose #5 will offer roundtrip train excursions from the Durango Depot (MP 451.52) to Cascade Canyon (MP 477.55). There will be a 15 minute layover at Cascade Canyon.
Important Notes: Lunch is not included. Goose passengers will be able to pre-purchase a boxed lunch or have access to purchase lunch from the concession car while at Cascade Canyon. Alternatively, passengers may bring their own lunch.
Restrooms are not available on the Goose but will be available at Hermosa, Rockwood, and on the regularly scheduled Cascade Canyon Train (thru 5/6/22) on layover at Cascade Canyon. On May 7th and 8th, restrooms will only be available at the Durango Depot, Hermosa and Rockwood.

Overview:
Join us on Narrow Gauge Day (May 6) when the Rio Grande Southern Galloping Goose #5 will offer one hour train excursions from the Durango Depot (MP 451.52) to Event Park (MP 456.65). Three departure times are available.
