DURANGO – The La Plata County Office of Emergency Management will hold an open house from 6-7 p.m. Tuesday, March 21 in the Board Room of the County Administration Building, 1101 E. 2nd Ave., Durango, to present an overview of a proposed project to use county drone systems for emergency response and disaster mitigation.
These unmanned aerial systems allow county staff to quickly, safely and accurately assess actual and potential damage, create maps of impacted areas, and provide detailed study of hazards. The presentation will cover the proposed uses for drones in emergency management settings, as well as data retention policies.
