AUTUMN ARTS FESTIVAL

EVENT DESCRIPTION

Join us in beautiful, historic downtown Durango to celebrate the Annual Durango Autumn Arts Festival. A regional destination event held on quaint Second Avenue, the festival is just one block away from Main Avenue, surrounded by hotelsshops, and locally owned restaurants.

Organized as a benefit event by and for the Durango Arts Center, the region’s premiere non-profit arts organization serving Durango and the Four Corners, the festival is a well-loved and attended community event attracting upwards of 7600 visitors to stroll the 100 fine arts & fine craft booths, enjoy live entertainment on the main stage, local food booths and a children’s Creation Station for family friendly activities. The Durango Autumn Arts Festival is a juried show, with the top artists selected out of a pool of over 200 applicants.

ABOUT THE FESTIVAL:

Celebrating 29 years of presenting fine art and fine craft by makers from around the country, this festival takes place amidst the fall colors on quaint Second Avenue in historic downtown Durango, Colorado.

Organized as a benefit event by and for the Durango Arts Center, the region’s premiere non-profit arts organization serving Durango and the Four Corners, the festival is ranked one of the top festivals in the country welcoming an estimated 7,000 to 8,000 visitors.  Artists and craftspeople report the show is well organized and offers great hospitality and friendly, steady crowds.

Festival patrons are encouraged to enjoy food from the many delicious restaurants downtown and throughout Durango (see our list of sponsors below for some ideas).

DURANGO ARTS WEEK – September 15-24, 2023

Creativity is coming to the mountains and mesas.  The first annual Durango Arts Week starts with the Durango Autumn Arts Festival.  If you want an unforgettable and inspiring experience, plan to stay for the entire Durango Arts Week.  Enjoy artful exploration that celebrates accessibility, creativity, and diversity.  Explore galleries, participate in workshops, connect with artists and see live performances such as DAC’s production of The Odd Couple (Female Version) (click here for tickets).  All are welcome!  Just bring your imagination and creativity!  Learn, engage, and enjoy all things art.

A BIT ABOUT DURANGO
