Colorado Association of Realtors Numbers for September – La Plata County

This week, we have the latest real estate numbers for La Plata County for the month of September. The attached charts show a detailed breakdown of several market segments in La Plata County, showing La Plata County as a whole, Durango In-Town, Durango Rural, Bayfield In-Town, Bayfield Rural, Ignacio In-Town, Ignacio Rural, and Durango Mountain Area.

These charts indicate the statistics and key metrics for single family homes and townhouses/condos, including new listings, sold listings, median sales price, and more. They compare September 2019 to September 2018. We also see the rolling 12 month median sales price for single family homes and townhouses/condos in these segments. We always appreciate these charts to be able to spot trends within our local market, and compare results to previous years.

La Plata Family Single Family homes had a stellar month. There were more new listings, and a substantially higher number of sold listings. The median sales price even had a slight increase. Year to date, we see more new listings and a higher median sales price, and a slightly lower number of sold listings compared to through last year at this time. La Plata County townhouses/condos had a strong increase in number of sold listings but a lower number of new listings and a lower median sales price this September compared to September of 2018. Year to date, there have been more new listings, sold listings, and a higher median sales price this year compared to through last year at this time.

Durango in town single family homes had a standout month. There were more new listings, more sold listings, and a higher median sales price than September 2018. Year to date, there were more new listings and a higher median sales price, but a lower number of sold listings compared to through last year at this time.

Durango rural single family homes had more new listings, and a strong jump in number of sold listings compared to last September, even though the median sales price was slower. Year to date, we see more new listings, more sold listings, and a higher median sales price this year compared to through this time last year.

Bayfield in town single family homes also had a strong month—even though it’s a smaller portion of the La Plata County market, we had in increase in new listings, sold listings, and median sales price September of 2019 compared to September 2018, and we see the same trend year to date compared to through this time last year.
