Sheriff Office Asks Help in Burglary Case
La Plata County Sheriff’s Office is asking for help from anyone who may recognize security camera photos of one of two burglars who broke into a garage at a residence on County Road 121 in western La Plata County early Sunday morning. During their investigation, Sheriff’s Investigators found footprints outside the garage. They also found a photo of one of the suspects from a security camera. A list of items taken was still being compiled Monday. The crime took place after midnight Sunday morning. Access was gained by breaking a window. The residents were asleep in the house at the time of the break-in and did not discover it until later in the day. Anyone who may know who was involved in this burglary or possibly other burglaries in the area are asked to contact La Plata Sheriff Investigator Jim Hendricks at 970-382-7018.
