Shooting Death Update
La Plata County Sheriff’s Office said on Friday that no foul play is suspected in a shooting last weekend that resulted in the death of a La Plata County resident.
On Saturday evening March 28th, Stacy Pazell suffered a gunshot wound to her head near the intersection of La Plata County Roads 502 and 501. A handgun was found near her. Her husband, 46 year old David Pazell was present during the occurrence.
Stacy Pazell was flown to a hospital in Denver where she died Sunday night.
An autopsy was performed Tuesday. While the results of toxicology reports are still pending, the Sheriff’s Office investigation does not indicate any criminal activity related to the incident.
