About Deborah Sussex:
Website: deborahsussex.com
Deborah Sussex is an award winning artist and photographer. Her interest in photography began over thirty years ago when she purchased her first camera with a high school art scholarship. At the time, she felt torn between art school and a life of traveling and working adventures. With no regrets, she chose the latter and brought her camera with her. As a fourth generation North Dakotan, she has deep family roots and connections to the prairies and plains, which, along with all wide open spaces, are a source of inspiration. As a young teen, her family moved to Minnesota where she fostered a love for the northwoods lake country and, through friends, was introduced to camping and backcountry adventures. For over 20 years she lived on the edge of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness, where she owned and operated a photography studio and gallery. In late 2012, Sussex and her husband fulfilled a life long dream to live in the mountains and relocated to Durango.
