COMING SOON IN THE THEATER:

10-minute plays were officially introduced by the Actors Theatre of Louisville in 1977, when the genre was promoted as part of the Humana Festival of new American Plays.
Often referred to as the “haiku of the American stage,” as well as “a streak of theatrical lightning,” 10-minute plays have become an engaging and popular genre for today’s audiences and playwrights.
The 10-minute Play Celebration at the Durango Arts Center involves 3 events:
a 10-minute Play Contest with a deadline for entries in February;
an Evening of Staged Readings of the top five finalists from the
contest in May, in which the Grand Prize Winner and Audience Choice Award is chosen;
and then a 10-minute Play Festival in which the winning plays and other finalists are given staged productions.
Oct 18, 19, 20.

Lesley is a native of Dublin, Ireland, and has lived in Durango for over 45 years. She is a local realtor at Legacy Properties West, Sotheby’s. She is known on CR 250 for her four brightly colored chairs, decked out in celebration of the current fun things going on in the Durango area. Lesley has five sons, and one is a glass artist.
